The kitchen is the heart of my home. I think being the daughter of a chef and witnessing how central food is within my cultures influenced the way I value nutrition. I like to put a twist on some of my childhood classics (aka mushroom hot chocolate) and included some herbal remedies below. Let me know your favs :)

SEA MOSS APPLESACE

Ingredients:

  • 5-6 organic apples

  • 3-4 tbsp sea moss gel (strawberry flavor optional)

Steps:

  • Peel and cut apples.

  • Steam apples until completely tender.

  • Add apples and sea moss to a blender. Mix well.

  • Add sea moss apple sauce to container and let cool.

  • Store in fridge to last about 2-3 weeks.

V DATE SHAKE

Ingredients:

  • 2-3 frozen bananas

  • almond butter

  • nut milk

  • cinnamon

  • ashwagandha powder (substitute sacha inchi, maca, etc.)

  • 4-5 medjool dates

Steps:

  • Add ingredients to a blender and mix well.

  • *Pro tip: If you like your smoothie chunky with date bits, blend the first 5 ingredients together. Then, add the dates and blend lightly.

  • Optional: add your favorite toppings.

ELDERBERRY COUGH SYRUP

Ingredients:

  • 2-3 oz total of dried herbs (I used elderberries, mullein, and chamomile.)

  • 4 cups of water

  • 1-2 cup of sweetener (ie. maple syrup, sugar)

Steps:

  • Add dried herbs and water to pot.

  • Simmer on low heat for about 45 min. Let it reduce half way (about 2 cups). Mix occasionally.

  • Once reduced, strain liquid.

  • Return liquid to clean pot.

  • Add sweetener to pot.

  • Heat on MED for about 5 min until well-mixed.

  • Transfer syrup to a clean container .

  • Label with name, ingredients, and date prepared.

  • Refrigerate once cool & it can last a few months.

MINT SALAD

Ingredients:

  • tomatoes

  • cucumbers

  • red onion

  • ACV

  • olive oil

  • salt

  • pepper

  • garlic powder

  • fresh mint

  • Violife vegan feta

Steps:

  • Dice tomatoes, cucumbers, and onions.

  • Mix 3 ingredients in bowl.

  • Add ACV, drizzle of olive oil, and seasoning to taste.

  • Let marinate for minimum 30 min.

  • Add feta cheese and fresh mint.

CHERRY BERRY SMOOTHIE

(W VITAMIN C)

Ingredients:

  • frozen cherry berry blend (cherries, blueberries, and blackberries)

  • 3/4 pineapple ginger juice (or pineapple juice)

  • 1/4 fresh OJ

  • Navitas Superfood Immunity Blend

Steps:

  • Add berries, juice, and herbal supplement to blender.

  • Blend till smooth.

  • Add your favorite toppings.

CHI-RIZO TACOS

  • garlic powder

  • onion powder

  • mushroom master blend by OM

  • salsa

  • lime

Ingredients:

  • chi-rizo by CHI

  • tortillas

  • spinach

  • white onions

  • tomatoes

  • cilantro

  • avocado

Steps:

  • Dice tomatoes, onion, avocado, and cilantro.

  • Sauté chi-rizo and spinach.

  • Add seasoning and mushroom supplement.

  • Build taco. Add salsa, cilantro, avocado, and lime.

HEADACHE RELIEF TEA

Ingredients:

  • 2 tsp lavender

  • 1 tsp rosemary

  • 1 tsp valerian root

  • *optional: honey

Steps:

  • Add herbs to steeper or unbleached tea bag.

  • Add boiling water and steep for about 10 min.

  • Remove tea bag. (Optional: add honey to taste.)

MUSHROOM HOT CHOCOLATE

Ingredients:

  • hot chocolate mix by LC CHOCOLATES

  • mushroom master blend by OM

  • nut milk

  • *optional: dandies v marshmallows

Steps:

  • Follow instructions on hot chocolate mix.

  • Add 1 scoop of mushroom supplement and mix well.

  • Serve and top with marshmallows.
